Job summary

A global biopharmaceutical company is seeking a Medical Science Liaison Rare Disease to join their UK & Ireland Medical team. The role involves building relationships with clinical experts, managing stakeholder engagements, and enhancing scientific understanding in neuromuscular and autoimmune diseases. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree and experience in medical liaison roles, with strong presentation skills and digital literacy emphasized. Qualifications

  • Masters degree required; Ph.D. preferred.
  • Some Medical Science Liaison and/or Medical Solution Lead experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated strength in development & execution of medical plans.
  • Digital Literacy required.
  • KOL engagement experience is a plus.

We are looking for a MSL Rare Disease to join us in our UK & Ireland Medical team to be field based covering the whole of the UK

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) provides peer-level scientific exchange with clinicians and researchers working in neuromuscular and autoimmune diseases at UCB. This individual develops relationships of trust and mutual support built on common interests in fostering deep science-driven understanding of autoimmune diseases advancing potential new therapies and mapping pathways and new strategies for patient value creation.

Who you’ll work with

You will report into the Medical Lead Rare Disease for the UK & Ireland

What you’ll do
  • Further develop and refine your scientific expertise and skillset through regular interaction with external and internal thought leaders.
  • Manage and execute stakeholder engagements within areas of scope based on training expertise and individualized approaches to identifying local needs and opportunities.
  • Build trust & credibility with Eco-systems developing relationships with leading academic researchers and key opinion leaders thought leaders to achieve alignment on key research and clinical objectives.
  • Act as enabler for science partnerships fostering appropriate discussion of UCB research objectives and findings through thought leader engagement and educational activities.
  • Full territory mapping for the disease area in the UK&I including identification of centres of excellence networks key opinion leaders and relevant stakeholders including Patient Groups / Associations Labs and Medical Societies to include relevant stakeholders.
  • Mapping existing care pathways to identify unique or evolving unmet patient needs.
