Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician based at our Chieveley sewage treatment works. You will inspect, maintain, fault-diagnose, install or repair electrical and mechanical plant, ensuring site operations remain safe and reliable for customers.

With a focus on health and safety, you will undertake reactive and planned maintenance, keep asset records, provide technical guidance, and support apprenticeship programmes, while benefiting from a competitive salary and pension.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship with electrical/mechanical experience or NVQ/C&G Level 3 in electrical engineering.
• 18th Edition preferred; training can be provided.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with internal/ external staff and contractors.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to changing environments.
• Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, fault-diagnose, test, install, modify or repair electrical and mechanical plant.
• Carry out reactive and planned maintenance; respond to alarms; escalate where needed.
• Record work and asset information to improve performance and identify risks.
• Provide technical advice and coach staff including apprentices.
• Deliver excellent customer experience and professional interactions with customers.
