Job summary

Thames Water is looking for a Mechanical Technician to join the Maintenance team at Mill Green STW. This role focuses on keeping equipment safe and running efficiently through proactive and reactive maintenance.

You will investigate plant issues, provide technical advice, and support technical trainees. You will work with motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and various control gear, ensuring safe and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering ( Mechanical Engineering )
• Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues.
• Must be physically fit to work in confined spaces with required training.
• Valid driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Investigate plant failures and perform repairs quickly to avoid process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and refer to up-to-date technical knowledge; assist trainees as needed.
• Work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, control gear, and related instrumentation.
• Complete statutory checks as required.
• Always work safely and follow Health and Safety procedures.
