Thames Water operates the UK’s largest water and wastewater network, supplying clean water to millions. We are seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician for our Speen Newbury site.

The role focuses on inspection, maintenance, fault diagnosis, testing, and repair of mechanical and electrical plant with minimal supervision, ensuring site operations remain uninterrupted. You will handle pumps, motors, control gear, VSDs, PLCs, and associated equipment, and participate in training and safety

Qualifikationen

• Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems in a true multi-skilled capacity.
• Upskilled with a mechanical qualification to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical and electrical plant equipment.
• Willing to develop dual-skilled status where needed.

Aufgaben

• Carry out scheduled planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment per procedures to minimise plant breakdowns.
• Investigate plant faults and carry out repairs quickly to avoid process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and refer to up-to-date technical knowledge; train or support technical trainees if required.
• Work on equipment such as pumps, control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, and PLCs/VSDs.
• Participate in a standby rota after training.
