A major infrastructure firm is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for a project in Tonbridge Wells. The successful candidate will oversee mechanical installation works on a live water treatment facility, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards. Essential qualifications include SSSTS or SMSTS certification and an NVQ in Mechanical Engineering. Strong leadership and understanding of mechanical systems are required for this role.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a major water infrastructure project in Tonbridge Wells. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven leader within the water/utilities sector to oversee mechanical installation works on a live water treatment facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works across the WTW site
  • Ensure all work is delivered in line with project specifications, safety standards, and programme
  • Manage subcontractors, ensuring quality, compliance, and productivity
  • Conduct toolbox talks, RAMS reviews, permits and daily briefings
  • Liaise closely with Site Management, Engineers, and Client representatives
  • Maintain high standards of documentation, reporting, and site records
  • Promote and uphold a strong health & safety culture across the mechanical team
Requirements
  • SSSTS or SMSTS - essential
  • NVQ in Mechanical Engineering / Supervisory discipline - essential
  • Proven experience supervising mechanical trades on water treatment works, utilities, or process plant projects
  • Strong understanding of pumps, pipework, valves, mechanical installation, and commissioning support
  • Ability to drive safety, quality, and productivity on site
  • Right to work in the UK and availability to start at short notice
