Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join the Estates department at Royal Bournemouth Hospital on a 37.5 hour shift pattern. The role requires a mechanical/building services background, an apprenticeship and a UK driving licence, with on-call duties and potential overtime.

Band 5 salary range £32,073–£39,043 per year plus relocation expenses and an on-call retainer.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised mechanical or building services apprenticeship with relevant post-apprenticeship training or equivalent.
• Current UK driving licence.
• Experience in building engineering services and plant maintenance.
• Willingness to work shift patterns and participate in on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Understand and execute planned maintenance, fault finding and repair on NHS premises' mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Work within Health, Safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
• Participate in outside normal hours on-call rota.
