Job summary

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Estates Technician to join the Mechanical maintenance team at Torbay Hospital in Torquay. The role focuses on planned maintenance and reactive tasks across the estate, with a hands-on approach and a flexible shift pattern.

You will hold a Level 3 BTEC/City & Guilds in mechanical engineering or an equivalent apprenticeship and bring experience in hospital environments. The post offers a permanent, full-time contract with NHS benefits.

Qualifications

• Level 3 BTEC/City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent training/experience.
• Trade apprenticeship in mechanical or building engineering services discipline.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned/unplanned maintenance on the trust estate.
• Flexibility to perform maintenance tasks and emergency calls outside normal clinical times.
• Support 7.15am–6.00pm 4 days/week with rolling rest day or 5 days/week.
