Job summary

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support reactive and planned maintenance of hospital plant and equipment across multiple sites. The role requires an apprenticeship and an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, with experience in building services and fault diagnosis.

The successful candidate will work within the Estates team, perform tests, repairs and compliance tasks, and participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours incidents,

Qualifications

• Recognised and registered craft apprenticeship.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Hospital maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service a wide range of mechanical, electrical and electronic plant and building services.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose faults, repair and test equipment on site and in workshop.
• Participate in on-call rota and respond to out-of-hours incidents.
