Job summary

DN Colleges Group seeks a Lecturer - Mechanical Engineering to join our Engineering department. The role delivers high-quality teaching across Mechanical Engineering programmes and acts as a Programme Tutor, supporting students’ progress, attendance, and wellbeing.

This is a part-time post for 22.5 hours per week with an actual salary of £21,414.29–£27,105.21 (FTE £33,787–£42,766). A relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification is required, with willingness to work towards a teaching

Qualifications

The vacancy

Are you passionate about Mechanical Engineering and keen to inspire the next generation of engineers? DN Colleges Group is seeking a Lecturer - Mechanical Engineering to join our Engineering department.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Mechanical Engineering programmes while supporting students to achieve their full potential. You will act as a Programme Tutor for a caseload of students, providing both academic and pastoral support, monitoring progress, and helping learners develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for further study and employment.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues, industry partners and support teams to create an engaging learning environment that promotes achievement, progression, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lecturer or an industry professional looking to transition into teaching, with support available to gain a teaching qualification where required.

This is a Part-time position for 22.5 hours per week. Working pattern can be discussed with the successful candidate.

Actual Salary for 22.5 hours £21,414.29- £27,105.21 (Full time equivalent of £33,787- £42,766)

Additional Information

Teaching Qualifications: Applicants are not required to hold a teaching qualification at the point of appointment. However, they must be willing to work towards and achieve a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification within the first 18 months of employment. This qualification must then be maintained through ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD). At DN Colleges Group, a recognised teaching qualification is defined as Level 5 or above.
