Overview

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Saffron Walden | Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:00 - 17:00 | Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a close-knit team maintaining a modern commercial site in Saffron Walden. Working as part of a small on-site team of three engineers, you'll play a key role in keeping building services running smoothly across a busy, high-spec facility within the building services and facilities management sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Mechanical Engineer who takes pride in delivering high standards, thrives on solving problems, and enjoys the variety of planned and reactive maintenance work.

What you'll be doing
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical systems and equipment
  • Responding to reactive maintenance and breakdowns, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectively
  • Fault-finding on HVAC, hot and cold-water systems, and generators (basic electrical knowledge is beneficial)
  • Supervising sub-contractors on site and ensuring safe working practices are followed
  • Keeping accurate records, completing paperwork, and updating the maintenance system
  • You'll be part of the on-call rota (1 in 4 weeks) with a £100 standby payment
