Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Bournemouth is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to manage on-site mechanical installation activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and coordination skills, with experience in healthcare projects being advantageous. Applicants must be qualified to Mechanical Engineer/Manager level, holding relevant certifications. This position offers a daily rate of £350 and presents an immediate start opportunity.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to Mechanical Engineer/Manager level or trade background.
  • Experience in healthcare projects and knowledge of HTM is advantageous.
  • Strong experience with chilled water systems and medical gases required.

Mechanical Engineer – Site Based

Bournemouth

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team and take ownership of all mechanical installation activities on-site. This role requires strong leadership, coordination skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring quality and compliance across all stages of delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all mechanical installation activities on-site.
  • Coordinate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Attend progress and commissioning meetings, providing clear updates.
  • Report progress to the Project Manager and support the QS with variations.
  • Develop and maintain TCL inspection test plans.
  • Ensure compliance with TCL health and safety requirements.
  • Carry out inspections and audits to ensure quality assurance.
Requirements
  • Qualified to Mechanical Engineer / Manager level (trade background considered with evidence of qualifications).
  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
  • Black CSCS Manager Card.
  • Proven experience in healthcare projects is an advantage, with HTM knowledge desirable but not essential.
  • Strong experience with chilled water systems, LTHW systems, domestic water systems, BMS, medical gases, and pneumatic tube systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive performance and maintain high standards.
