Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Mechanical Discipline Lead to oversee the mechanical engineering discipline within our water framework in the UK. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will steer technical direction, ensure quality of deliverables, and manage technical problem solving across engineers and consultants.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with recognised professional institution.
• Proven ability to lead a portfolio of technical projects, ensuring QA and standards.
• Demonstrable experience in infra and non-infra mechanical design.
• Strong communication skills with cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Willingness to travel regularly for client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for technical quality of the deliverables created by the discipline.
• Challenge client's technical standards and waivers/deviations for the discipline.
• Ensure the discipline discharges its duties as a Designer under CDM.
• Coordinate mechanical resources across the framework with design managers and technical leads.
• Develop relationships with client technical stakeholders and maintain regular communication.
