Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Chartered Mechanical Discipline Lead to oversee the mechanical engineering scope on UK water projects. You will manage technical quality, coordinate across design teams, and interact with the client’s technical stakeholders to keep programmes on track.

The role requires experience in infrastructure mechanical design, CDM responsibilities, and a proactive approach to innovation. Travel to client sites is expected as part of framework delivery.

Qualifications

• Chartered status with a recognised professional institution.
• Proven ability to lead a portfolio of technical projects and mentor staff.
• Demonstrable experience in infra and non-infra mechanical design.
• Strong communication across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of CDM responsibilities is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Owns technical quality of deliverables for the mechanical discipline.
• Leads client engagements and coordinates with design managers and technical leads.
• Ensures compliance with QA and technical standards.
• Drives discipline-wide problem solving and innovation.
• Develops relationships with client technical stakeholders and supports delivery targets.
