Mechanical Design Engineer

Location:

Peterborough, UK (Hybrid 2 days remote working per week)

Salary & Benefits:

• GBP40,000 to GBP45,000 per annum
• 7.5% employer pension contribution

About the Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of mechanical design activities for complex machinery. You ll work closely with cross–functional teams to develop innovative solutions, ensuring designs meet technical specifications, budgets, and performance KPI s

Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer role:

• Design new machinery using SolidWorks and CAD tools
• Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings, parts lists, and bills of materials
• Review and approve colleagues designs via PDM and ERP systems
• Lead mechanical design efforts within multidisciplinary project teams
• Create and manage risk assessments and technical documentation
• Collaborate internationally with engineers from other disciplines
• Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders
• Mentor junior engineering staff and contribute to process improvements

What We re Looking for in the Ideal Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Proven experience in mechanical design engineering
• Proficiency in 3D and 2D CAD design
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel occasionally as required
