A leading international high-technology group in the aviation sector seeks a Certification Engineer to conduct mechanical analysis and ensure compliance with regulatory safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical, aerospace, or structural engineering and experience with aircraft interiors certification. Responsibilities include planning certification activities, performing structural assessments, and liaising with regulatory authorities to ensure timely approvals. This role may involve UK and international travel.
Working within cross‑functional team, the candidate will carry out the necessary mechanical analysis, substantiation and certification activities required to deliver a safe and reliable product which meets all the necessary regulatory safety standards.
Producing substantiation documents to a high standard, on time and in full, the candidate will plan, execute and report the necessary certification activities (mechanical / structural substantiation analysis, tests, demonstrations and compliance reviews) required to qualify the product.
Liaising externally with aircraft manufacturers (Boeing, Airbus, etc.) and regulatory authorities (European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)), the certification engineer will ensure that the necessary approvals (ETSO, STC or TC) are provided in time to support delivery of the product to the customers (aircraft OEM and airline operators).
Support to be provided to Senior, Principal and Chief Certification Engineers as necessary.
Some UK and international travel will be required.
Qualified to a minimum of degree level in a mechanical, aerospace or structural engineering discipline. Alternatively a HNC/HND or an equivalent qualification in a mechanical, aerospace or structural engineering discipline with a demonstrable knowledge of certification of aircraft interiors structures.
