Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Systems Engineer for its Nuclear, Defence and Civil division. You will develop system architectures, manage interfaces, translate stakeholder needs into requirements, and support verification, validation and configuration management.

The role involves collaboration with designers and cross-disciplinary teams to meet delivery deadlines. Essential skills include MBSE, DOORS or similar tools, and experience across the engineering lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience across the full engineering lifecycle.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and architecture development.
• Experience using system engineering toolsets (DOORS, Sparx EA) or similar.
• Willingness to work toward professional engineering registration.
• UK security clearance eligibility and ability to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Capture and translate stakeholder vision and define system scope and boundary (Concept of Operations).
• Develop system requirements across lifecycle using an appropriate tool.
• Create system architectural views (functional/physical) and breakdown structures.
• Apply scenario and role modelling for capability assurance evidence.
• Collaborate with designers to define interfaces and manage technical assumptions/constraints.
• Develop artefacts to support reviews and client deliverables.
• Produce verification and validation evidence.
• Support configuration management of the design baseline.
