Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for its Nuclear; Defence and Civil division. You will lead stakeholder workshops, develop system architectures, and ensure delivery of key system engineering artefacts against agreed deadlines.

The role involves working with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to shape robust system design and verification plans. You will apply MBSE techniques, manage requirements and interfaces, and contribute to shaping the architecture and lifecycle

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of systems engineering across the full lifecycle.
• Excellent stakeholder management and clear communication of complex concepts.
• Experience in requirements development for infrastructure projects.
• MBSE approach and system architecture development.
• Knowledge of System Integration, Test, Evaluation and Acceptance strategies.
• Proficiency with tools like DOORS and Sparx EA for requirements and architecture.
• Background in highly regulated engineering environments (nuclear desirable).
• Degree in a technical discipline and professional registration desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder workshops and define system scope and boundary.
• Develop and manage system requirements across lifecycle.
• Create architectural views (functional, physical) and interface definitions.
• Model scenarios and capabilities to support evidence-based assurance.
• Collaborate with designers on interfaces and constraints.
• Produce high-quality technical artefacts and reports.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee task progress.
