Manufacturing Technician

Location: Birmingham

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30

Pay Rate: £13.81 per hour

This onsite role at the Protein Diagnostics Division in Birmingham involves supporting the manufacturing of world-leading diagnostic products. As a Manufacturing Technician II, you will be part of a dedicated operations team, ensuring product quality, equipment readiness, and smooth workflow execution.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work independently using a daily/weekly plan.
  • Manage materials and inventory needed for production.
  • Carry out scheduled tasks on equipment or assigned areas.
  • Perform basic data checks and process checks.
What We're Looking For
  • A proactive person who completes work accurately the first time.
  • Someone who can troubleshoot issues and suggest improvements.
  • Good at organising work, meeting deadlines, and following SOPs.
  • Comfortable using computers, especially Excel.
Required Experience & Education
  • GCSE level (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of lab experience, OR a relevant scientific degree.
  • Previous lab experience is essential.
  • Experience planning or managing workload is an advantage.
Work Environment
  • Laboratory-based role with PPE provided.
  • Handling chemicals and lifting up to 20 kg may be required.
  • Occasional short-notice overtime, including weekends.
