Manual Machinist

Job Title: Manual Machinist

Hourly rate: £18.00 -18.64 per 1.5 Overtimerate

Hours: 07:30-16:15, Monday-Thursday; 07:30-11:30 Friday

Fantastic opening for a Manual Machinist to work for a world‑class manufacturing company with a strong order book.

Working within a friendly, stable and highly successful manufacturing team as Manual Machinist you will ideally have both the ability to use a manual mill as well as experience of jig boring, lapping, drilling etc.

Responsibilities
  • Setting up machines for the jobs allocated.
  • Perform the machining required to the required specifications.
  • Operating a conventional mill.
  • Undertaking jig boring, lapping, drilling, surface grinding and balancing.
Qualifications
  • Machine shop environment experience or apprentice trained / time served.
  • Manual machining - milling.
  • Competent in using precision measurement equipment.
  • The ability to work to fine tolerances & understand engineering drawings.
