Job Title: Management Accountant

Location: Green Lane Walsall – Hybrid – 3 days per week typically in the office

Salary: Up to £50k dependent on qualifications and experience

Role

We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Integrated Water Services (Mechanical & Electrical) Finance team. This is a key role, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. This challenging and rewarding position will give you the opportunity to make your mark in a commercially focused and fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Implementing and maintaining financial control.
  • Regular communication with all levels of management across the business.
  • Knowledge of accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, posting journals and carrying out monthly project reviews.
  • Understanding of cost management accounting ensuring controls and processes are being adhered to and improved where possible.
  • Preparing all levels of month‑end reporting packs in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Supporting on a variety of other financial reporting and analysis tasks as needed to fulfil company and group requirements.
  • Supporting the statutory accounting and reporting process carried out through Group Finance, including the external audit of the IWS M&E business.
  • Supporting day‑to‑day financial processing as part of a small team.
Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified in CIMA or ACCA, with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines; attention to detail is a must.
  • Good communication, analytical and presentation skills; strong IT skills in Excel and other Microsoft packages.
  • Previous experience within the water industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong commercial background, able to present and communicate complex financial information clearly to Senior Managers and the Executive team.
  • Team player with a can‑do attitude, upholding honesty, integrity and discretion.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
