Job summary

NES Fircroft in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, is seeking a Management Accountant on a 12-month contract to join the UK Finance team. You will handle general accounting, management reporting, and day-to-day financial processes in a small team.

The role covers month-end, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and liaison with shared service centres and overseas colleagues to ensure compliance with internal controls. 35 hours per week with flexible hours across five days, PAYE inside IR35.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified and ideally working towards ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a finance or accounting position.
• Good practical understanding of accounting processes.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working collaboratively within a small finance team.

Responsibilities

• Balance sheet account reconciliations, justification reviews and ageing analysis.
• Compile and review lease schedules.
• Compile and review SOX control documentation.
• Support government and statutory reporting requirements.
• Assist with month-end close and preparation of management reports.
• Prepare accruals, accounting records, statements and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with shared service centres and overseas colleagues to ensure compliance with financial procedures and controls.
• Collate supporting documentation for external auditors.
• Support year-end accounting analysis and tax summaries.
• Provide wider support to senior accounting and finance team members as required.
• Ensure all financial activities are completed in line with internal policies, procedures and controls.

NES Fircroft are supporting a major oilfield services organisation with the appointment of a Management Accountant to join their UK Finance team based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire.

Working as part of a close-knit four-person team, this is a varied finance position covering general accounting, management accounting and reporting, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

The successful candidate will provide key financial support to the wider business and management team, working to tight reporting deadlines while ensuring accounting processes, policies and controls are followed.

Key Responsibilities
