Job summary

NES Fircroft are supporting a major oilfield services organisation to appoint a Management Accountant in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. The role involves general and management accounting, reporting, and working within a small team to meet tight deadlines.

You will provide key financial support to the wider business, ensuring policies and controls are followed. The 12-month contract offers a varied finance remit across the UK finance function.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified and ideally working towards ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or equivalent.
• Previous experience working within a finance or accounting position.
• Good practical understanding of accounting processes.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Previous experience working with ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working collaboratively within a small finance team.

Responsibilities

• Balance sheet account reconciliations, justification reviews and ageing analysis.
• Compile and review lease schedules.
• Compile and review SOX control documentation.
• Support government and statutory reporting requirements.
• Assist with month-end close and preparation of management reports.
• Prepare accruals, accounting records, statements and supporting documentation.
• Collate supporting documentation for external auditors.
• Support year-end accounting analysis and tax summaries.
• Provide wider support to senior accounting and finance team members as required.
• Ensure all financial activities are completed in line with internal policies, procedures and controls.

Management Accountant – 12 Month Contract

Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, PAYE (Inside IR35), 35 hours per week, flexible working hours across 5 days, 12-month contract

NES Fircroft are supporting a major oilfield services organisation with the appointment of a Management Accountant to join their UK Finance team based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire.

Working as part of a close-knit four-person team, this is a varied finance position covering general accounting, management accounting and reporting, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

The successful candidate will provide key financial support to the wider business and management team, working to tight reporting deadlines while ensuring accounting processes, policies and controls are followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Balance sheet account reconciliations, justification reviews and ageing analysis
• Compile and review lease schedules
• Compile and review SOX control documentation
• Support government and statutory reporting requirements
• Assist with month-end close and preparation of management reports
• Prepare accruals, accounting records, statements and supporting documentation
• Liaise with shared service centres and overseas colleagues to ensure compliance with financial procedures and controls
• Collate supporting documentation for external auditors
• Support year-end accounting analysis and tax summaries
• Provide wider support to senior accounting and finance team members as required
• Ensure all financial activities are completed in line with internal policies, procedures and controls

Experience & Qualifications
