Engineering Specialist – Manufacturing – Church Stretton

Join us as an Engineering Specialist in our rapidly expanding Church Stretton manufacturing facility, where your hands‑on engineering expertise will help directly shape the future of our chemical production operations.

Responsibilities
  • Support the installation, qualification, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment from lab to plant scale.
  • Install, test, and maintain laboratory‑to‑process scale equipment while sustaining current output and enhancing chemical manufacturing capabilities.
  • Work closely with fellow engineers to troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain equipment and processes.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for lab installations and maintenance, including obtaining quotes, scheduling work, overseeing on‑site activities, conducting risk assessments, issuing permits to work, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Assist in supporting production processes, including testing, problem‑solving, and process optimization (e.g., improving cycle time, yield, cost, quality, safety).
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and test new components, products, or systems.
  • Document procedures, tests, and maintenance activities.
  • Possibly design or build tools to support manufacturing (CAD).
Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or engineering support, preferably in chemical, pharma or food industry.
  • Specialist education would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with CAD software would be a plus.
  • Proactive, solution‑oriented, able to take initiative and solve complex technical problems with precision.
  • Effective communication, confident collaboration with peers, management and cross‑functional teams, and strong relationship building with internal and external partners.
  • Passion for learning, strong sense of ownership, and drive to optimize processes essential to success in this role.
