Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - FMCG Manufacturing

📍 York | £50,000 + Benefits | 6-2 / 2-10 Rotating Shifts (Monday to Friday)

Are you a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for a secure role in a fast-moving manufacturing environment? We’re working with a leading FMCG manufacturer in York, currently investing heavily in their site and engineering team. They’re now looking to recruit a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to help keep the lines running smoothly and ensure maximum uptime across the plant.

⚙️ The Role:

• Carrying out mechanical fault finding, repairs, and planned maintenance across production equipment
• Working on conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and packaging machinery
• Supporting breakdowns, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement work
• Assisting with installation and upgrade projects across the site
• Maintaining safety standards and ensuring all work complies with site procedures

🔍 What You’ll Need:

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
• Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment
• Team player with a proactive, problem‑solving approach

⏰ Shift Pattern:

• 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm rotating shifts (Monday to Friday - no weekends!)
