Responsibilities
- Respond to plant breakdowns and be responsible for the correct and efficient repair of equipment keeping downtime to a minimum with timely and safe adherence to the maintenance plan whilst complying with all relevant statutory legislation and the internal company Safety, Health and Environmental standards.
- Continue to improve plant performance whilst maintaining safety, maintenance and asset reliability.
- Contribute to the in-house development of the Computer Maintenance Management System.
- Utilise documents and maintain policies, procedures and associated guidelines for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment within the Electrical Engineering department as appropriate.
- Support the maintenance and operations functions.
- Work Monday to Friday days with overtime available and on-call requirements to meet site production needs.
- Possess a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and be able to use a company van.
Qualifications
- 18th Edition – BS7671 IEC Regulations and Legislation.
- Level 3 Apprentice training or ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering.
- Working knowledge and experience of industrial low voltage power distribution systems.
- Good working understanding of PLCs and associated tools and techniques for software interrogation.
- Proven working knowledge of AC Drives and Motors.
- Proven predictive maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management Systems.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis tools/techniques.
- Ability to design simple electrical systems and draw schematic diagrams then transfer the information into practical use.
- Working knowledge of performing electrical statutory tests and inspections and understanding of safe use of electrical test and measuring instruments (qualification in inspection and testing preferred).
- Good understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics as well as national and international codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications.
- Ability to learn health and safety rules applicable to each department regarding their own and other operators' safety.
- Experience working in a relevant heavy engineering industry and familiarity with TPM methodology and continuous improvement.
