Job summary

Toad Hall Nursery Group in Hitchin is seeking an experienced Lunchtime Assistant to support early years learning and wellbeing. You will help deliver EYFS-aligned activities, supervise children aged 0-5, and contribute to safe, nurturing care within a collaborative team.

We value hands-on childcare experience, a positive attitude, and strong teamwork. Ongoing training and development opportunities are provided to help you grow in a caring nursery environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lunchtime Assistant to join our welcoming team in Hitchin. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on childcare experience who is passionate about early years education and creating a nurturing environment for young children to thrive. As a Lunchtime Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will help deliver engaging activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, ensuring a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for every child.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the daily care and supervision of children aged 0-5
• Assisting in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities
• Promoting children's social, emotional and physical development
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety
• Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
• Contributing to observations and learning journals where required

While this position is open to unqualified applicants, previous experience working within a nursery, preschool, or early years setting is essential and priority will be given to qualified practitioners.
