Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Logistics Controller has arisen in Logistic operations, as part of Supply chain planning, in Rolls‑Royce Defence (Submarines). In this role you will operate within a physical logistics environment supporting the business and working with logistics providers where appropriate, to operate and improve the services which support logistics operations. Accountable for key specific services within logistics as defined within the key accountabilities of the role; act as a champion for logistics operations on the nominated scope of activity e.g. warehouse management, asset governance, delivery, transport, data quality or packaging. Drive and support demonstrable improvement projects that deliver new capability or efficiency/savings.

Responsibilities
  • To act as first point of escalation for all logistics issues in your area; coaching other members of the logistics team, to reduce repeat errors.
  • Highlighting system data integrity errors, and ensuring the relevant executive system is maintained and compliant.
  • Accountable to create and deliver KPI reports, as required, for the business (including GFA / inventory records).
  • Where required, responsible for the distribution of material into the supply chain in adherence to business priorities and to ensure material is sufficiently provisioned within the cutting operations, to meet business requirements.
  • To ensure quality standards across all logistics areas are adhered to in accordance with business requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Physical Logistics processes to reduce costs and increase service levels.
  • To operate to the relevant policies and procedures as defined and comply with RRMS.
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualification.
  • Sound knowledge of logistics processes and systems (for example but not limited to, SAP MRP, Excel and MIS).
  • Experience of change management and improvement activities is desirable.
  • Has experience of controlling logistics services in a 3PL environment.
  • Awareness of all regulatory requirements in the related subject.
  • Has consistently delivered results within a logistics or operations environment.
  • Proven history of process compliance and data integrity.
  • Understanding of different roles / functions / processes.
