Job summary

RCM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across parcel and pallet distribution services within the UK. You will identify target customers, generate opportunities through prospecting, networking and meetings, and build a strong pipeline to meet revenue and margin targets.

The role requires proven B2B sales experience in logistics, excellent negotiation and relationship skills, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Proven B2B sales or business development experience in logistics, transport, parcels or pallets.
• Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
• Self-motivated with targets.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Organised pipeline and territory management.
• Familiar with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Identify, target and secure new parcel and pallet customers within the agreed territory and target markets.
• Generate new business through prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, LinkedIn and face-to-face appointments.
• Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to achieve agreed monthly and annual revenue and margin targets.
• Arrange and attend customer meetings to understand shipping requirements, volumes, service expectations and commercial opportunities.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, tenders and presentations tailored to customer requirements.
• Sell a range of services including UK parcels, international parcels, pallet distribution, express deliveries and associated freight solutions.
