Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to join a GP practice in Dunstable. You will support the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

Ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions with morning and afternoon availability. Suitable for long-term block bookings; enhanced DBS required and strong patient interaction skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
