Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant to support a GP practice in Southport. You will work as part of a proactive clinical team providing routine patient observations, ECGs, phlebotomy where trained and general day-to-day treatment room support.

The role involves helping manage patient flow, maintaining accurate records in the clinical system, and delivering high-quality care with clear guidance from the practice. DBS must be enhanced.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation.
• Supporting with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments.
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion.
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system.
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required.
