A healthcare provider in Scotland seeks a part-time consultant for a fixed-term locum post specializing in Colorectal/Anal and Gynaecological Cancer. The role requires full GMC Registration and specialist training. The consultant will provide care centrally at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, working in collaboration with regional partners. Candidates are encouraged from diverse backgrounds, with support for disabled applicants. Flexible working arrangements will be considered for this maternity cover position.

Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR – Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non‑UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, part‑time (36 hours per week) post based in Western General Hospital.
This is a locum 9‑session clinical post, specialising in Colorectal/Anal and Gynaecological Cancer. Consideration will be given to requests for flexible working. The need for this post is due to maternity cover within the Colorectal/Anal and Gynaecological Cancer Services. The post holder will be expected to provide a consultant‑led service for Colorectal/Anal and Gynaecological Cancer including Radiotherapy, SACT, targeted therapies and immunotherapy, delivering care centrally in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre with liaison with partner boards across SCAN to deliver treatments close to home when possible. They will work closely with other colleagues to deliver across the SCAN region.
