Local Authority Community Housing Triage Officer - South West London

Pay rate to £21.54 per hour

Contract role, Local Government Housing

We are recruiting for an experienced Community Housing Triage Officer in the Kingston area. In order to successfully deliver the responsibilities of the role you will have:

  • Knowledge of the causes of homelessness and best practice in preventing and relieving homelessness.
  • Knowledge of social housing allocation, private rented sector and supported accommodation.
  • Experience of working in a housing, customer service or advocacy and advice setting.
  • Has the ability to understand and interpret assimilate complex case law, and to think creatively.
  • Knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and an understanding of the terms and conditions contained in a range of tenancy agreements.
  • Experience of working with client groups with a history of trauma, including mental health, domestic abuse, homelessness and/or alcohol/substance use.

This is a contract role, and you will need to have experience in a similar role in a Local Authority setting.
