Job summary

Veolia in Northampton is seeking a Loader to join our waste collection teams. You will be responsible for emptying bins, collecting waste and recycling, and helping ensure safe operations across routes. The role is outdoors in all weather, with full training provided and opportunities for development.

You will work 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary and benefits package. A strong focus on safety, teamwork and reliability is essential to succeed in this position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect waste and recycling from premises, including domestic and green waste.
• Ensure any potential danger to self or others is minimised and site safety is observed.
• Leave roads and boundaries clean and tidy after collections; return bins as required.
• Assist the driver with vehicle manoeuvres, especially reversing.
• Complete forms or electronic records accurately and on time.
• Wear Veolia PPE and follow Health & Safety procedures at all times.
• Work as part of a team or on your own initiative.
• Report any accidents to the manager and document accordingly.
• Receive full training and perform duties mainly outdoors in all weather.

What you'll be doing;

• Emptying bins or collecting bags from premises . This includes domestic waste , green waste and recycling. Boxes are sometimes used in the way of collecting glass.
• Ensuring that any potential danger to yourself, other employees, and the general public is minimised
• Ensuring the road is left clean and tidy following collections, including bins placed back on the boundary and all spillages cleared
• Assisting the driver when manoeuvring the vehicle, especially reversing
• Acting as ambassadors on behalf of the company, ensuring that the client is treated respectfully and that all requirements are complied with where safe to do so
• Perform duties in an efficient & effective manner that will ensure maximum productivity
• To accurately complete appropriate forms/paperwork or electronic tablet allocated work
• Comply with any site conditions ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed and appropriate Veolia PPE is worn at all times
• To work as part of a team or on your own initiative
• Report any accidents that occur during your shift to the manager and all accident reports are completed before you leave work
• Full training will be provided and will be working mainly outside in all weathers
