Job summary

Veolia in Chorley, UK, is hiring a Class 2 Driver to join our waste management team. The role involves driving to planned collection locations, daily vehicle checks, submitting paperwork, and complying with road laws.

48 hours per week, 4am starts, Monday to Friday with some later starts; requires up-to-date CPC and Tachograph/Digi Card. We offer 22 days annual leave (guidance to 25 with service), a £39,835.85 salary plus benefits and a range of wellbeing, pension and training options to support

• Essential: Up to date CPC.
• Essential: Digi / Tachograph Card.

Responsibilities

• Driving to planned collection locations and moving / emptying multiple commercial waste containers.
• Submitting daily paperwork and inputting information into the onboard system.
• Performing daily vehicle checks per driver operator handbook.
• Complying with traffic laws and load weight regulations.
• Ensuring the carriageway is clean and spills are cleaned up.

£5.00 Daily meal allowance - per day worked
Single person Daily Allowance: Paid Dependant on the Route £39.96
Hours: 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday - 4am starts and finishing at 14:00
Some days you will be asked to start later so you must be flexible with working hours

What you'll be doing;

• Driving to planned collection locations and moving / emptying multiple commercial waste containers
• Ensuring all information is input into the onboard system and all paperwork is kept up to date and submitted daily
• Completing daily checks of the vehicle as per our driver operator handbook
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including and weight of loads
• Ensuring that the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up

What we're looking for;

Essential:

• Class 2 (Cat C) license
• Up to date CPC
• Digi / Tachograph Card

Desirable

• Previous waste management experience
• RORO and Skip experience
