This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced analyst with a passion for energy market research, excellent critical thinking, and technical skills, and who can derive and defend price views based on their supply-demand analysis. The company has been rapidly developing its name in the gas sector over recent years and the new hire will be expected to continue building that reputation for thoughtful analysis and clear market views.

The role will play a central position in formulating the market views of our LNG service. Prior experience of analysing the LNG market is essential. You will also need to be able to run and develop our econometric models as well as review the modelling work of your colleagues. The role also requires strong written skills to communicate our views through reports. The ability to effectively present to clients and the media is also important.

Energy Aspects is highly entrepreneurial and operates in fast evolving energy commodity markets so this position needs someone who is able to spot opportunities, pitch ideas for new analysis, and work effectively with the rest of the team. Our new team member must be able to work flexibly and go beyond the core hours when needed. All analysts are encouraged to build their own professional reputation within the industry. In exchange for this hard work, we offer excellent remuneration, the chance to collaborate with a highly engaged team of energy market experts, and the opportunity to be part of the company’s growth story.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing robust and defensible LNG import and export forecasts.
  • Writing scheduled and ad hoc reports on the LNG market, focusing on supply-demand fundamentals, policy impacts and other price drivers.
  • Presenting our views to clients through presentations, conferences, and email responses.
  • Presenting our views to news organisations.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Experience analysing the LNG market and linking fundamentals analysis to price views.
  • Experience running and developing econometric models.
  • Excellent technical skills using excel.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team.
  • A high level of written English.
  • Strong presenting and communication skills.

Desirable skills
  • Fluency in a language other than English: Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Hindi, Spanish, Russian, Turkish.
  • An established network of LNG market industry contacts.
  • A background in statistical analysis.
  • Experience presenting views at conferences and to the media.
