Job summary

Evri in Carlisle is hiring experienced HGV drivers for permanent night-shift trunking to regional hubs. You will operate a modern Volvo fleet, with 9-hour shifts and a 45-hour week, starting around 5–6pm, across Monday to Friday in many sites.

You will be responsible for delivering pallets, cages and freight on time, with some sites requiring loading/unloading. There is seasonal pay adds and a robust benefits package including generous annual leave.

Qualifications

• Must hold Class 1 driving licence.
• DCPC training hours completed or in progress.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Laws and safe driving practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive a lorry from our Volvo fleet, with high-spec features.
• Trunk goods to regional hubs on the night shift.
• Assist with loading/unloading; scan consignments and operate pallet trucks as needed.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily; complete Defect Report if required.

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.?Theyre?a joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sure?youre?comfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and?9-hour?shifts per day which typically start at?5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where?youll?be driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

We?dont?micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.?This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

Youll?make sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,?youll?need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

Youll?be responsible for?inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
