Astro Education Ltd is recruiting enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEN/SEMH school in South Manchester on a full-time, permanent basis. Start dates are immediate and roles involve supporting pupils with SEMH needs in a small-class, supportive setting.

Ideal candidates hold Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualifications or relevant experience, with a calm, patient approach and strong teamwork skills. Direct permanent route after induction day is provided.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience.
• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEN/SFMH/education.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Confidence supporting pupils with challenging or complex behaviours.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Resilience and enthusiasm to help young people succeed.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils within small SEMH-focused classes.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Helping pupils engage positively with their learning.
• Building trusting and positive relationships with pupils.
• Supporting classroom routines and behaviour management strategies.
• Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and emotional resilience.
• Working closely with teachers and other members of the school's support team.
• Contributing to a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
