Astro Education Ltd. is recruiting a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in South Manchester. You will support KS3 and KS4 pupils with SEMH needs, delivering structured, nurturing support throughout the school day.

The role offers full-time, permanent employment with a Monday–Friday school pattern. Previous experience in SEMH, behavioural support or related care sectors is valued to help pupils engage and progress in education.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs.
• Experience in residential care/youth work or similar settings is desirable.
• Patient, calm and resilient with ability to stay professional under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and school-wide support for KS3/KS4 pupils.
• Support pupils in small groups and one-to-one to foster engagement and learning.
• Use de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies and collaborate with teachers and SEN staff.
