Job summary

Astro Education Ltd in South Manchester is recruiting SEMH Teaching Assistants at Levels 2 and 3 for a full-time, permanent role. You will work in a specialist SEN/SEMH school supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Immediate starts available; you will work closely with teachers to provide 1:1 and small-group support, promote positive behaviour, and help pupils build confidence and resilience in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience.
• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEN, SEMH, education, residential care or youth work.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Confidence supporting pupils who may display challenging or complex behaviours.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Resilience, enthusiasm and a genuine desire to help young people succeed.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Astro Education are currently supporting a specialist SEN/SEMH school in South Manchester that is looking to recruit enthusiastic and resilient Level 2 and Level 3 Teaching Assistants to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The school works with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing a supportive, structured environment with small class sizes and a strong focus on individual development.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally. You will work closely with teachers and the wider school team to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop the skills they need to succeed.
