About the Role

Reporting to the Global General Counsel (London based), this position plays a key role in ensuring the department meets its objectives and continues to provide high‑quality support to the wider business. Your Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Management : Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that enhance legal and compliance operations, streamlining processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Financial Management : Oversee external legal spend, including monitoring budgets, forecasting future needs, and identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies.
  • Technology and Systems : Evaluate, implement, and manage technology tools to increase team efficiency, such as contract management and compliance platforms.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration : Work closely with other departments to align legal activities with broader business goals and support cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Data and Reporting : Analyse legal and compliance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, preparing concise and insightful reports for senior leadership.
  • Legal Project Management : Coordinate and manage key legal and compliance projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and aligned to strategic objectives.
  • Company Secretarial Support : Assist with company secretarial operations, including board meeting preparation, follow‑up, maintaining statutory records, and managing relevant filings.
  • Executive and Team Coordination : Provide agile, high‑level support to the General Counsel, including organising team meetings, minute taking, managing correspondence, and maintaining efficient document systems.
  • Learning and Development : Support team learning and development activities, coordinating internal and external training opportunities to foster continuous improvement.
About you
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence across departments.
  • Able to prepare clear reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Confident decision‑maker with strong discretion and integrity in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Skilled at managing multiple complex matters and competing deadlines.
  • Comfortable with change and ambiguity, demonstrating initiative and ownership.
  • Strong personal ethics and a practical, “can‑do” approach with operational rigour.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
  • A builder’s mindset, with the ability to design and implement new processes, policies, and procedures from the ground up.
  • Proven experience in managing budgets, forecasting, financial analysis, and vendor or law firm relationships.
  • Strong technical proficiency, including PowerPoint, Excel, and AI‑driven tools, with experience implementing or improving legal management systems.
  • Desirable: Experience working within a fast‑growing or private‑equity‑backed business.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with company secretarial processes, governance, and statutory compliance.
  • Evidence of driving initiatives that enhance communication, teamwork, and knowledge sharing.
  • Solid understanding of contracting and compliance processes, with experience developing best practices that elevate team performance.
