Legal Cashier

Location : Norwich

Contract : Full-Time

Overview

Our client, a respected and long-established law firm, is seeking an ambitious and proactive Legal Cashier to join their close-knit, friendly accounts team based in Norwich. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive environment that values work-life balance and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily reconciliation of the firm's bank accounts
  • Managing incoming funds via internet banking; investigating and allocating monies promptly in line with firm policies
  • Processing outgoing payments from the firm's accounts via electronic transfer or cheque, in accordance with internal policies and SAR requirements
  • Checking and processing bills
  • Monitoring client balances and working with fee earners to clear balances following completion, ensuring timely returns of funds
  • Transferring costs and disbursements
  • Liaising with clients by to take card payments
  • Providing day-to-day financial support to fee earners and secretaries, addressing queries via email, or Zoom
  • Reporting any breaches to the Senior Accounts Manager and assisting in prompt resolution
  • Ensuring all incoming cheques are logged and processed appropriately
  • Undertaking any other reasonable duties as required

  • Strong knowledge of client accounting systems, including bank reconciliation
