An educational institution is seeking a Lecturer in Health and Social Care to deliver courses from level 2 to level 3. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing practical and classroom-based learning experiences, in addition to providing coaching and mentoring to students. A Level 4 qualification in a relevant field and a teaching qualification are mandatory, along with Welsh language skills. Salary: £20,157.60 – £31,159.20 (Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine)

As a lecturer you will deliver Health and Social Care courses from level 2 to level 3. You will design and deliver both practical and classroom based learning, enrol students on appropriate courses, provide coaching, mentoring and learning opportunities, and ensure the safety and welfare of all students at all times.
Welsh language skills are an essential requirement for this role. Candidates must demonstrate Level 3 Welsh language skills. A Welsh Language skills assessment will form part of the selection process to identify competence, confidence and suitability for a development plan. The college is committed to raising the profile of the Welsh language and applications can be submitted in Welsh.
This role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order and is classed as regulated activity. Therefore it requires an Enhanced DBS with Barred List check, and applicants must disclose all cautions and convictions, including spent ones. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children. Disclosure will not automatically prevent employment; a risk assessment will be carried out however we may deem some convictions or cautions as unsuitable. Depending on the position, successful candidates may also need to register with the Education Workforce Council.
