Job summary

Barnsley College is seeking a dedicated support worker to assist learners with additional needs across the curriculum. You will provide personalised support, help learners engage with their programmes, and develop strategies to build independence and resilience. DBS checks are required and eligibility checks apply.

The role involves working with learners on programmes from entry level to Level 3, in a flexible hours pattern within the college setting.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate clearly with learners and colleagues.
• Capable of supporting literacy, numeracy, and language skills.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to meet audit deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small group support to learners with additional needs.
• Adapt methods so learners can engage with their study programme.
• Support literacy, numeracy, language, cognition and problem-solving skills.
