Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (SEN) for a full-time, term-time role in Bromley. You will provide one-to-one and small group support to learners with SEN, removing barriers to learning and helping them access college life and services.

The role involves assisting with personal care, mobility, and wellbeing, and supporting independence, study skills and EHCP outcomes. Training and development are provided, including First Aid training.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEN, additional needs or vulnerable individuals.
• Good standard of general education with Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to achieve).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Team player with a proactive and flexible approach.
• Comfortable supporting learners with personal care and mobility where required.
• Committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
• First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning and accessibility support for learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Support students to access learning programmes, college services and enrichment activities.
• Assist with personal care, mobility and wellbeing where required.
• Help learners develop independence, study skills and self-advocacy.
• Support the implementation and review of individual support plans and EHCP outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents/carers and external agencies.
• Ensure assistive technology and specialist equipment are available and operational.
• Act as a College First Aider (training provided if required).

Learning Support Assistant (SEN)

Full-time (35 hours per week) | Term Time Only | Long-term contract (12 months+ / ongoing)Salary: £26,500 - £27,500 pro rata (term time only) + Training & Development + First Aid TrainingLocation: Bromley and surrounding areas

Working closely with curriculum staff and the Learning Support team, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, remove barriers to learning, and help create an inclusive environment where every learner can thrive.

This role would suit someone with experience supporting learners with SEN or additional needs, excellent communication skills, and a caring, patient approach. Applications are welcomed from candidates with backgrounds in education, care, youth work, support work, or similar sectors.
