Job summary

Askham Bryan College, Saltaire campus, is seeking a Learning Support Practitioner to provide tailored learning support to students with high needs and SEND. The role is permanent, 22.2 hours across Monday, Tuesday and Friday, with induction days for new starters.

You will help students engage in college life, support progress in learning, and bring knowledge of autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other SEND needs. An enhanced DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting learners with SEND.
• Good understanding of additional needs including autism, ADHD and dyslexia.
• Good understanding of social, emotional and mental health needs, speech, language and communication difficulties, dyspraxia and moderate to severe learning difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored learning and individual support to students with high needs and SEND.
• Help students engage fully in college life.
• Support students to achieve their goals and make meaningful progress in their learning.
