Job summary

South Gloucestershire and Stroud College is seeking a part-time, term-time learning support assistant to help learners progress in the classroom and during unstructured times. The role includes in-class support, supervision during breaks, and administrative duties.

Working 28 hours over 4 days or 35 hours over 5 days, 38 weeks per year with school holidays off, you will support curriculum staff and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Good standard of general education including Maths and English at GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent)
• Experience with young people aged 16-25 with additional needs and/or EHCPs is desirable
• Experience or willingness to learn Office 365 and its applications

Responsibilities

• To work collaboratively with curriculum staff in-class to support learner progress and achievement
• To supervise learners during unstructured times (breaks, lunch, arrivals and departures)
• To provide out-of-class academic support for learners individually or in groups
• To complete administrative duties, such as accurately recording student support
