Zusammenfassung

Gower College Swansea is seeking a part-time, fixed-term helper to support learners in practical construction-focused classrooms. The role involves one-to-one or small group support, literacy/numeracy development, and pastoral care under lecturer direction.

Based at Jubilee Court in Fforest Fach, the position runs 36 weeks per year during term-time, with a pro rata salary of £14,081 per annum for 25 hours/week. Interviews are planned for October 2026.

Qualifikationen

Maths and English GCSEs: A - C Grade or equivalent.
Experience of working with young people in a similar job role.
Knowledge and understanding of the needs of students with additional learning needs/learning difficulties.
Confident, resilient, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Aufgaben

To provide one-to-one or small group support under lecturer direction as appropriate in the classroom setting.
To assist with the development of learners' literacy and numeracy skills.
To assist with the pastoral care needs of learners and to direct learners to other college support mechanisms as necessary.
To provide learners with help in understanding oral and written instruction.
To assist with the co-ordination of learners' work, record keeping and progress through liaison with lecturing and support staff at all levels within the College.
