Job summary

Clackmannanshire Council is seeking Learning Assistants to join school teams. The role involves supporting learners with learning, mobility and medical needs under the supervision of the Head Teacher or designated Manager. Training may lead to assisting with prescribed therapies and feeding methods, including Gastrostomy or Nasogastric tubes.

PVG scheme checks apply. The post is part-time term time with working patterns agreed during recruitment; hybrid working is possible with office attendance

Qualifications

• Learners' learning and care plans support.
• May assist with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and hydrotherapy.
• May assist with feeding (Gastrostomy, Nasogastric tubes or other means).
• In Severe & Complex ASN/ ASD provisions, support pupils with complex communication, sensory or personal care needs.

Responsibilities

• Work under supervision of a Class Teacher to support learning.
• Assist with moving and handling and reporting progress to teachers.
• Support teachers to enable effective use of resources and raise attainment.
• Provide care and support for pupils with additional support needs as required.
