Midlothian Council is recruiting for a part-time role working a pattern across 39 weeks per year. The job involves supporting pupils with special needs, administering medication and providing personal care under supervision. Applicants should have relevant childcare qualifications and certificates in manual handling and first aid.

Training will be provided for additional courses such as Move and Calm, with the successful candidate appointed at the first point on the salary scale.

Competenze

• Evidence of basic literacy and numeracy at Standard Grade level or SVQ2 in Early Years Care and Education, or National Certificate in Childcare & Education.
• Experience supporting clients with special needs and providing personal care.
• Certificates in manual handling, food hygiene and basic first aid are essential.

Mansioni

• Support colleagues and pupils with special needs in daily activities.
• Administer medications and provide personal and intimate care as required.
• Operate in line with health and safety policies and training (manual handling, first aid, etc.).
