Job summary

The Alton School is seeking a motivated individual to support a class of young pupils in a nurturing inner London setting, working with the teacher to deliver engaging learning resources and to support both the whole class and small groups. You will promote positive behaviour, build strong relationships with pupils and families, and help meet educational and emotional needs.

Applicants should bring enthusiasm, a great personality and strong communication skills, with experience in an education

Qualifications

• Clear communication with pupils, families and staff.

• Willingness to provide personal self-care support to pupils.
• Experience in an education setting is preferable for primary age range.

Job description

The Alton is an inclusive inner London primary school situated next to Richmond Park. Your main priorities will be to support a class of young people, providing support to the whole class and coaching children on a 1:1 or small group basis. Working with children to ensure their educational and emotional needs are met and promoting positive behaviour in a nurturing environment. You will establish professional relationships with the new pupils and their families as well as with other staff in the school.

You will need:

• A great personality and good enthusiasm
• Experience in an education setting (Primary age range Preferable).
• Strong communication skills
• To be proactive, committed, resilient and reliable
• Ability to Work with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
• Willingness to provide personal self-care support to pupils
